The RBI has reported on Tuesday that it will right away release new currency notes of Rs 100 division in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 bearing the sign of Urjit Patel, The Governor of RBI . The new notes will be without inset letter in both the numbering sheets and the year of printing "2016" will be engraved on the pivot of the banknote, RBI said in a release.
"The blueprint of these banknotes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the Rs 100 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 issued earlier having climbing size of numerals in the number sheets, deplete lines, and broadened recognizing evidence stamp, on the front-side,"
it included.
"Each one of the banknotes in the segment of Rs 100 issued by the Bank in the past will continue being real fragile," RBI said.
